HISTORY TUTORING THROUGH ZINN’S PEOPLE’S HISTORY

February 2, 2012

This notice goes out to parents with or without homeschooled children.  I’ve been tutoring a young man in History for the last few months using Howard Zinn’s book The People’s History of the United States.  The sessions consist of reading aloud to another, the listener always taking notes.  When a subject of particular interest comes up, we explore more in that direction, sometimes with the internet, sometimes with books from the Random Row collection.  This method helps to maintain a consistency in progress through the book while leaving open the freedom to explore periods of particular interest of the student.   The sessions take place at Random Row Books between the times of 11 and  5 Tuesday through Saturday.  The cost is $15 an hour (or barter).

I have three children of my own and  almost ten years experience teaching and tutoring at the college level and below.  Please contact Ryan with any question, randomrowbooks@gmail.com.
