You don’t have to be a racist to benefit from a system of racism (Tatum, 1992). How can we begin to identify the structural ways in which inequity is built into our culture and institutions? What are strategies ordinary people can use to make extraordinary strides in interrupting patterns of injustice? How do we begin to create a more equitable Charlottesville in our everyday activities?

This is not a lecture or a presentation. It is a hands-on conversation that unfolds though the use of theatre games, small group activities, and personal stories. Please come ready to engage your head, heart and hands for the full three hours.

Please RSVP by Saturday, July 21 to Jaime-Jin at

“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” -Lilla Watson
